Geek alert! I’ve been doing scientific research again and wouldn’t feel right if I didn’t share what I’ve found. Your health and your children’s health may depend on it.

Do you or your family members use vitamins?  Yes?

According to “Consumer Reports,” over half of Americans use vitamins to manage weight, maintain health or avoid using prescription drugs. What’s scary is that, even though the Natural Medicines Comprehensive Database lists more than 54,000 nutritional products, only about one-third of them have scientific evidence to prove any level of safety or effectiveness. As a “show me the proof” type of girl, that worries me.

Vitamin Supplement Brands

We both know there’s no shortage of vitamin supplement brands out there, but determining which ones are best for you can be a daunting task. And even though it may be boring, it’s crucial for you to verify the quality claims given by vitamin companies before you buy their products. Ask questions, request documented clinical research and check references to evaluate any supplement manufacturer you’re considering. Check whether their products are manufactured according to Good Manufacturing Practice and if they have ever had products recalled. After asking these questions, you’ll find that the huge list of potential vitamin brands has been drastically reduced.

Shaklee Corporation – My Fave

After more than 50 years in business, Shaklee is a name that many people instantly recall from many years ago. Dr. Forrest Shaklee developed vitalized minerals in 1915 and founded his corporation in 1956. It’s obvious from the longevity of the company, that many consumers have placed their trust in the products. Their products – which include vitamin supplements, wellness products, organic household cleaners and safe personal care choices – include ingredients that are put through rigid quality control and quality assurance procedures, with over 100,000 quality tests performed each year on both the ingredients and the finished products. Those are the kinds of products I want for me and my kids.

GMP Certification

Good Manufacturing Practice, or GMP, certification is an absolute necessity for vitamin companies. A GMP certificate goes only to companies that adhere to appropriate design, monitoring, and control of manufacturing processes and facilities. These criteria are laid out by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to ensure that all supplements are of high standards regarding quality, purity, strength and identity.  Shaklee Corporation manufacturing standards not only meet GMP standards, but were used as basis for formulating those standards.

As much as I hope you trust me enough to take my recommendation, you don’t have to believe one word I say about this. Clinical and scientific research proves it. More than 100 scientific papers have already published on the performance of Shaklee’s products, 90 of which have been published in peer-reviewed scientific journals. Shaklee products have been proven in clinical studies to be the best supplements for controlling blood triglyceride levels, blood cholesterol, obesity, anti-aging and overall health.

What have your vitamins been proven to do?

I’ve done my research, used almost all of the products, and highly recommend you give them a try.  They’re not cheap, but how much of a benefit can you really expect from vitamins that cost $2.99?  I’m just sayin’…

Try Shaklee.  It’s worth the money.
